22nd District Agricultural Association/Del Mar Fairgrounds Privacy Policy
The 22nd District Agricultural Association is committed to promoting and protecting the privacy rights of individuals, as enumerated in Article 1 of the California Constitution, the Information Practices Act of 1977, and other state and federal statutes.
It is the policy of the 22nd District Agricultural Association to limit the collection and safeguard the privacy of personal information collected or maintained by the San Diego County Fair and other events directly sponsored by the 22nd District Agricultural Association. The 22nd DAA's information management practices are consistent with the Information Practices Act (Civil Code Section 1798 et seq.), the Public Records Act (Government Code Section 6250 et seq.), Government Code Sections 11015.5 and 11019.9, and with other applicable laws pertaining to information privacy.
The 22nd District Agricultural Association follows these principles in collecting and managing personal information:
We collect personal information on individuals only as allowed by law. We limit the collection of personal information to what is relevant and necessary to accomplish a lawful purpose of the 22nd District Agricultural Association. For example, we need to know someone's first name and e-mail address, among other things, to properly maintain our email newsletter.
CHOICE
We do not select and direct mailing or emailings to you unless you request them. We do not collect home, business or e-mail addresses, or account information from persons who browse our Internet sites. We collect personal information about you only if you provide it to us voluntarily through e-mail, registration forms, surveys, or an online job application. Visitors to our website are not required to disclose any personal information. However, to join our email bulletin, enter a contest, apply for a job, or purchase goods, you may need to provide your name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, credit card information or other information required to fulfill the desired service or good. Unless otherwise specified, anyone who enters one of our contests is added to our email bulletin mailing list. We may also receive personal information from third parties, such as a ticketing company or ISP. You are able to unsubscribe at any time from any mailing list.
Persons under the age of 13 are not eligible to subscribe to our email bulletin or provide any personal information. We decline to accept information and will delete any information inadvertently collected from anyone under the age of 13.
We tell people who provide personal information to the 22nd District Agricultural Association the purpose for which the information is collected. We tell persons who are asked to provide personal information about the general uses that we will make of that information. We do this at the time of collection. Providing this information is strictly voluntary and helps us develop programming that suits you, our patron. Our website may use IP addresses to determine what pages were viewed, how long the pages were viewed, and other statistics. This information is used only as anonymous aggregate user data to determine whether improvements can be made in our service. For instance, we may keep a total count on the number of people visiting a certain web page, but do not keep personal information on the identity of an individual visitor.
